Google has a free version for download and a whole whack of Youtube.com video tutorials that show how it can be used. I was able to create this model of Doug's name after watching only the first short tutorial video! They've made this tool exceptionally powerful while still keeping it easy and fun. If you've always wanted to explore 3D modeling / Computer Aided Design you may find this software an absolute riot!
There's a lot you can do with three crispy block letters. The temptation is great to mess about, attempting to create some clever arrangement. With these Web2.0 style logos I'm trying to keep it simple, clean and fast. None of these logos are terribly difficult to do and most people could very quickly learn how to create them in Photoshop, Illustrator, or any other kind of graphics tool. For some reason I really like the M, E and K letters together without any fussing about.
Bear with me... I have a feeling I'm going to go through my entire neighbourhood. I have a small hood, so this should not take too long.

Note to anyone: If you want to save the logo, save it as its original PNG format. They are transparent PNG's so they will work on all background colours.

I'm taking some spare time, which is sparse these days, to create logos using my friend's, family and neighbour's names. Watch for them, you may get your name in lights! But just to be really narcissistic, I'll start with my own... :-)
