Michelle, You are so good! I know you just moved or are about to move, so you inspire me a great deal. I must get my new, much more streamlined recording studio set up. Thanks!
Thank you Zotta :-) I did move recently and I am not almost completely settled here. Having a streamlined studio area on the house is always nice. Just flip it on, start the software and play. Of course I will never have the pure unadulterated sound of a real studio but for my amature recordings, what I have set up works jut fine... yup :-)
In case you're curious: 1 x LTO S-6 6-channel mixing console 2 x Shure PG48 Studio standards vocals mics 1 x Sony Vegas production studio software 1 x grandfather's Violin 1 x Roland EP75 electronic Piano 1 x Old used guitar 2 x Clark's Whistles Keys of C and D respectively 1x Hammerhead rhythm station for the odd time I need percussion :-)
The mixer is always plugged in to the computer, the mic's are permanently situated one hanging from the ceiling and one on the floor. As long as I start the software and turn on the mixing console I'm ready to record within minutes.
